A diver named Johan Potgieter was filming his exploration in South African waters when his GoPro captured a terrifying moment as a great white shark approached.
He was equipped with a harpoon examining an underwater rock formation when the ocean’s top predator appeared beside him. The diver screamed in desperation after seeing the shark move away.
The shark returned toward Johan, who screamed again before starting to ascend to the surface.
“White, white! Watch out for the white,” he shouted to the other divers. He looked down and saw the shark circling his legs again.
“He almost ate me,” Johan told the boat crew. GoPro said this was one of the scariest images ever recorded by one of their cameras.
